Star of David

The Star of David is a hexagram or six-pointed star that is a major symbol of Judaism.

Known as Magen David ("Shield of David") in Hebrew, the Star of David has been used as a decorative motif in Judaism since ancient times but it was only around the Late Middle Ages that it began to be used as a symbol of Judaism and Jewish identity. A Star of David is prominently featured on the flag of Israel.
